Time to resurrect the draft

As I understand it, there's already a bill circling congress which is about a draft. Its being met with dissatisfaction, few want to put it through.

Even a grunt is a highly trained part of a team.
You can't afford to have people there who dont want to be there.

I agree, it does hurt, but so do the myriad of other things that other soldiers do, by mistake or otherwise. A vehicle kills four Korean girls on a rain slicked road. That affects morale as well. completely uinintentional, but it happens.

Some Army nut rapes an Okinawan child, that hurts morale too, intentional, and total BS.

Both instances affected, but did not cripple the Military. They overcame both, and countless others, and I have full confidence that the Military can withstand this, as well.

I know this thread is dead but you mentioned somthing about an army nut raping an okinawan child.

It was actually 2 Marines and a Navy Corpsman.  She was 14.  Our relations w/ the okinawans (SP) have never been the same since!  Those idiots went out and rented a car to go rape a young girl....for their crimes they will spend the rest of their lives in an Oki jail (shudder)  The admiral in charge of the pacific made the comment to the press "for the price they paid for a rental car they could have easily got a hooker"  very true but he was released of command.  

we are reminded yet again with the Iraq prison thing that a few (even if they were ordered) can screw things up for the many.
