After finally getting a hold of someone after 3 HOURS and 15 MINUTES+ "Melissa" said all she could do is say "sorry I don’t know how this happened"
I never did get a hold of anyone on my cellular phone (I don’t use a land line) I eventually drove over to my step-fathers and used his phone to call the policy changes number.
I tore into the person who answered pretty well (but never once yelled or spoke profanity knowing that it would only make my case look bad). After over 10 minutes on hold on that phone I got a supervisor. Melissa.
now Melissa was only "doing her job" but she still did nothing but sound condescending to me, and after explaining the situation and asking "what are you / can you do to rectify this situation?" she said "I can transfer you to a claims specialist" that’s ALL.
As stated, I have sent an email to the Wisconsin department of consumer affairs, the Ohio department of consumer affairs (progressive is based there), the better business beauro, the federal trade commission, and the local "action" news group that does consumer investigations.
The BBB I actually filled out a form where I stated the problem, the person spoken to, the details, and the requested restitution. I included my policy premium for this period, and my cellular minutes. I almost mentioned the 3+ ours of my Friday night wasted, but figured that in court that was moot.
My cellular company has been extremely helpful in this. speaking to a woman there she provided detailed instructions how I can get a subpoena for a special detailed bill (more info than the regular detailed bill) showing all numbers "sent" during that call also (my policy number and stuff to prove I really was on the phone with them).
I also made my first convert!!! She had just literally signed up with progressive today, and after hearing my story said she was immediately going to geiko (rates almost the same)!! Heck she thanked me for exposing this deplorable company more than 10 times!
How exhilarating it was to hear her say that. I am on a mission now to put progressive out of business. It is my purpose for being, I really feel liberated! I actually am here to make a difference!
