Instant CTD when hitting fly button
« on: July 09, 2004, 04:46:39 PM »
Just started doing this yesterday for NO (repeat) NO reason.

No changes, nothing new installed, nada.

Get a DDhelp error when it happens.

So tried removing & reinstalling DX9, no joy.
Tried removing & reinstalling my ATI drivers.
Got em removed all right, but once I went to install
I got a "incorrect rpc stub" error.

Ended up nuking windows, reinstalling all from scratch.

Guess what, new dx9, new omega drivers and it STILL does it.
Only thing I have not done is remove & reinstall AH2, yet, downloading as I type.

Causes? Fixes?

Anyone?

I used to get some ddhelp errors when i used Win98 with AH1.
Once they started AH would not run at all, but the fix was easy just reboot.
Sounds as if your problem may be worse.

Ghosth that may have something to do with nose art. Did you have any changes there?

Certainly appears to have been it yes.

Is a good news bad news deal.

Bad news is I have to rebuild email address, bookmarks, reinstall some software.

Good news is most software works, the newest omega drivers for 98se work nicely.

And I got a chance to play with the newest mozzila releases. (had & still have a problem with netscape not running)

REALLY like Thunderbird, the mozilla email client.

Glad to hear you are up and running again Ghosth.

Hope rebuilding & reinstalling everything else goes smooth and quick for ya. It's a pain in the butt for sure :(

I've run into this same issue with nose art before, glad I was able to help you out a bit.

cheers,

RTR
