Pyro, question on acceptable ranges of skins..
« on: July 10, 2004, 12:58:46 AM »
I've heard that the Spit8 skins will be accepted for use for the Spit9..

then, would it be possible to use Fw190A-6 schemes for the Fw190A-5, if the plane is not planned to be modelled anytime soon?

The Fw190A-6 is one of the most numerous produced Fw190s ever, with its performance being basically the same as the A-5, except the fact it carries MG151/20s as outboard cannons instead of the MG-FFs. There are great many schemes for the A-6, whereas the A-5 schemes are actually pretty rare to find, with the exception of usually Eastern front material.

Also, if it is possible, it'd be great if we had a sort of a guidline concerning what is accepted and what not; for instance, a Bf109G-14/ASM, one of the latter built G-14s with MW50, is almost par in performance with the G-10 we have. Or, RAF P-51C schemes might be used on the P-51B? Or Ta152H-0 schemes may be used for Ta152H-1s?

 ...

ps) heck, how about just giving us a A-6? :D Just add MG151/20s and there, all done!

Good question Kw. I'd be interested in the P47 series for the same reasons. Aluminum skinned bubble tops look good using the game D30 skin because it reflects. I have a couple of D25's that look good using that skin instead of the game D25 skin.

Would that be acceptable ??

There's also some real nice D1's, D5's, D6's and D15 skins out there to paint.

Would these be acceptable using the game D11 skin ??

I was wondering if F4F-3s would be acceptable on the F4F-4 skin.

How about using an alpha mask to create a Clipped Wing Spit V or IX from our current ones.
I suspect not, but if they are not planned as seperate models it would be at least nice to see them.

They said they won't accept anything where the alpha mask changes the shape of the plane itself. I'm guessing this means clipped wings are out.

Wouldn't have thought an alpha mask, as its being used already to hide canopy frames, numbers i.e 109E etc, it wouldn't affect game stability. No different than making an indexed color a transparent color.
