New A/C?
« on: July 07, 2004, 04:23:57 PM »
Does anyone know when...or if...there are any plans towards the planeset? I understand there are probably many other gameplay issues before work goes into an increased planeset, but I'm curious.

Anyone know anything?

The only indication from HTC with regard to the planset was a statement by Pyro that they were looking forward to modeling new planes, and in a seperate threat, the cryptic "fighter, Bomber, tank" quote which has lead some to believe that this will be the makeup of the new additions.

It's been problematic for us because fixing an issue on one particular card/driver/memory configuration can create new ones for a different config that was working fine before. There's been quite a bit of work done in this area, but before we put it out in patch form, we plan to make it an optional download. We hope to have this ready to go tomorrow. We appreciate your patience if you're having a problem. Our efforts have been totally committed to getting these issues resolved.

I would think that the AC additions will be on hold for some time yet.

I just researched the "News and Announcments" section of the BBS since "The Beginning" 8-16-1999
These were my findings.

Plane set added after AH1 version 1.00 release. 1-24-2000

F4U-1C.
Spitfire V
P-38L added
Spitfire V added
C.202
Typhoon 1B
Yak-9U
A6M5b
Fw 190A-5
P-47D-30
P-47D-25
Ju 88A-4
Lancaster Mk III

AC added after AH 1.08 DX version release. 10-4-2001

Me-262
 Hurricane IIC
 Hurricane IID
 F4U-1
 F4U-4
 Mosquito Mk VI.
Spitfire I
 Hurricane I
 Bf 109E-4
 Bf 110C-4
 Bf 110G-2
 and Ki-67
Spitfire Mk XIV
P-40B
 P-40E
 D3A1
 SBD-5
 Boston III
 A-20G
 A6M2
 F4F-4
 FM2
B5N2
 Ju-87D
Stuka
Me-163

The most recent additions B5N2, Ju-87D Stuka, and Me-163 were all added with the release of version 1.11 on 12-16-2002 That’s about 1 year 7.5 months.

Ah2 was released 6-16-2004.
So to recap…. 13 planes were added to the original set in the life of AH1.00
26 planes were added during the life of AH1.08
That’s a grand total of 39 Ac added to Aces High in its first 4 years and about 5 months of Aces High existence after the original Beta was ran.
That’s about 1605 days.
1605/39=41.15
That's roughly a new AC every 41 days. With the Performance issues HTC is dealing with in AH2 one could guess that we might see the first AC or Tank addition in about 60 days from AH2’s release. Lets Hope HTC can hammer out this performance stuff fast.
Im sure it’s a pain.
PS…you love me doncha RedTail.? :D
