DISREGARD THIS POST, I GOT IT NOW.  THANK YOU.

I just installed a Geforce 5200 PCI video card.  Everything seems to be fine but one thing, I can not get my start menu to show.  The desktop icons and background are working OK.  I have called Gateway, they won't help because it's a non Gateway item.  The company I got it from said I need to contact the computer company that made computer.  While Nvidia said to contact the company I bought it from.  Anyone know how to get my start menu back?

Start menu?  Thats odd.  Well, I'd say an obvious stat would be to get the latest drivers and work from there.

What are the rest of your specs?  o/s?

Thanks Jetb.  Looks like I'll be able to play after all.  It realy puts me more in the hole financially, but if I go any longer with out playing...  Got to play AH2 offline just a few minutes ago, very cool.  It will take me awhile to get the hang of it but I think I will like it, will need to get my account back. :D Hope to see you soon Jetb.  Best wishes.

Move your mouse cursor to the very bottom edge of your monitor screen. If the task bar pops up move the cursor over to the START button and right click on it. Click properties. Select taskbar then check the lock taskbar box and uncheck the hide taskbar box.

If you move your cursor to the bottom of your screen and the cursor changes to a vertical arrow, right click hold and drag it up and it should pull the taskbar up. Complete the evolution with a right click on the START button and then click properties, select taskbar then check the appropriate boxes.

Hope this is what you need help with.

Thanks Blooz, that was not the problem.  Looks like I had video card set for 2 screens.  I deleted one & got my start menu back.  I'm so very happy now. :D
