With the mouse basically.

In more detail, use the box tool to select all the black rivets, then ctrl C to copy them. Ctrl V creates a new image with the rivets in. Use the colour change tool to turn the rivets white. Then copy the white rivets and click back onto the skin image. Ctrl E pastes the white rivets as a new selection into the skin.

Now carefully place the cursor over one of the rivets. You can then drag the white rivet selection wherever you like. Get the white rivets exactly over the black ones to start with then move them one pixel up or down and one pixel left or right.

You need to consistent with the direction light is supposed to be coming from. I have the fuselage lit from above and in front for example.

The only prob is the underside, as it mirrored. So the white rivets end up opposite.

PSP has a couple of useful tools for this. Image/flip will flip whatever is selected from top to bottom while image/mirror will swap the selection from left to right. So you can create a copy of the left fuselage panel rivets, mirror it, then paste it over the right panel.

Understood, but all the skins I have worked on up to now there is only 1 lower wing. Therefore no matter which side the white rivets are they are mirrored on the opposite side.
Reading it myself don't know if it makes sense lol.

If on bmp you had white/black, one lower wing would be white/black, other is mirror black/white.

Anyway thanks to help from both who gave me panel line drawings, I have submitted this one.

245 Sdn 1944 - Flown by Sdn Ldr Jack Collins
Spinner was a pain, seen one drawing as a sky spinner with blue spiral, but all pics show dark single color. Checking on 245 sqn history traditionally it was RAF Dull Roundel Red, so thats what I used.

and this one -

OK you can do still do this, its just a sequencing thing. What you need to do is create one wing panel's rivets in black. Copy these mirrored to the other wing. Then create white versions of each panel's rivets and paste them on top of the black rivets, offset correctly for light.

Understood Greebo, but I think your missing the point.
On skins where there is only 1 lower wing, no matter how you do the rivets the light will never appear to come from the same side. The other lower wing which is not part of the skin is mirrored from the lower one that is part of the skin.
