Ya know... we can't get our underwear in a knot if you continue to ask questions like this.

Stop it.

Pretty silly attempt at distraction there RPM..

Hillary was given wide responsibity in Clinton's healthcare reform attempts...

So it's clear that they can influence policy moves even without direct veto or signing power...

Silly? I'll ask you directly Grun. What bill was signed into law or vetoed by a First Lady? Just name one.

I'm sure Laura Bush has the same influence on Dubya. But I don't recall her signing or authoring any legislation.

I'm not voting on anyones wife, child, dog, astrologer, barber or mechanic. I'm voting for 1 man to be president.

Keep slinging mud, NeoCons seem to enjoy it.

Slinging mud? NeoCons?

WTF?

Thats the best reponse you can do after I gave you a clear example of a first lady with enormous direct political impact in the formation of policy...

She was the chairperson of the Task Force on National Health Care Reform. This body was directly tasked with preperation and writing of healtrh care legislation.

Thats clear policy making power even without the final yes/no vote...

hmm... tides admits to the contributions and tides is a very lefty group dedicated to eradicating the death penalty and redistribution of wealth.

I don't think that it is very defensible that kerrie and co are not extremely liberal.  They are total lefties.

All you are doing is slinging mud at a candidates wife. Very manly I might add.

Yes, Hillary was appointed by President Clinton to head a committee on healthcare reforms. It could have easily been 100 other civilians, but in this case she was intellegent enought to handle the job. I say intellegent enough because she later proved this to the citizens of New York and they elected her Senator.

I still don't remember her signing anything into law. The First Lady's position is mostly ceremonial. But if you want to drag down a candidate by attacking his wife then by all means be a manly republican man. Nothing says testosterone like picking on a woman. You da MAN!

What have I said against any potential first lady in this thread?

Are you making stuff up as you go?  Or maybe trying to twist my jab at John Kerry?

Or maybe you just like throwing out lies and insults... Mudslinging?

In our little discussion here between you and me I think it's fair to say that the only mudslinging has been cming from you RPM...

Hillary headed a commision tasked with writing legislation. Writing legistlation, one more time.  This wasnt some watermelon chat session - it was serious political power.

So for the nth time there is clear proof of a first lady who had political power even without a direct yes/no vote.  Of course you can just continue ignoring that heading a commision tasked with writing legislation intended on reforming something as big as oh  the national healthcare system is not power - but that would be pretty desperate..

President Clinton appointed her to a task force to devise reforms to America's health system .

Grun, the entire point of the post is a mudslinging slam at Mrs. Kerry.

If all the mudsliging has come from me, where is it? I have not said 1 world about Laura Bush.

Does the First lady have influence? Yes. Does she have political power? No.

The Hillary reference carries the same clout as saying any other civilian that works on a government project has control of the White House. When the First Lady is given actual power by the constitution, then you may have an arguement. Until then, it's his wife you are taking shots at, not him. It's a weak, low blow tactic.

In the discussion between you and me, you have been throwing out insults the whole time..

Also by bringing up hillary's example of the political power she weilded how have I been insulting either her or Teresa Kerry?

Stop making stuff up RPM..  And what about control of the white house? How did we go from writing legislation to controling the white house...  I think ure trying to deflect the topic of discussion...

The only thing I have been saying is that first lady Hillary Clinton had a very powerful position given to her by her husband, the president,  a position where she was able to write very significant legislation.

Thats all and none of that is an insult in any way...
