There are many clients of HTC who do have viruses on thier systems.  I get emails that show to be from me, only to find they come from someone on Comcast, AOL, RR, or some other ISP.

Quite a number of players have viruses/worms and probably do not know it.

It should not have to be said, but I will say it anyways.  Running an anti-virus program does not gaurantee you will not get viruses.  There is a window of oppertunity between the time a virus is released on the Internet and the time it takes your anti-virus program to get updated where your system can get a virus.

Everytime your anti-virus software gets an update, it is a good exercise to scan your entire system for viruses.  That update might catch a virus that is already planted on your computer.

I had a trojan slip in recently and not get caught because I was using an old edition of Norton's (old virus engine) that apparently won't catch the new stuff even with updates. And I'm very careful about attachments. But, for work I have to open a lot of attachements so one must have slipped by somewhere.

It was a mailer type and I caught on because I found myself getting bounced e-mails that I didn't send. I had odd behavior too (slowdowns, etc.) but I had put those off on some shareware video editors that I tried out recently and uninstalled (since nothing showed up on virus scan or spyware scans).

Live and learn. It "should" be cleaned out now (can't be too sure) and all will be without question when I finally reformat and reinstall next week.

I've got approx 3 virus'd e-mails a day and it started around July 7th. Its obviously spoofing e-mail addresses (symantec sent one, lol?)... I checked my machine and its clean.

If we are all getting the same messages then we know its one of the gents from AH with an infected computer.

I honestly feel alot better I'm not the only one getting these e-mails. Hope we get down to the bottom of it ASAP, I need this e-mail address for work and my other hobbies, I'd hate to have to have a separate e-mail for everything I do.

Lol Skuzzy.

It seems I am getting approx 1 per hour, so its pretty regular in its mailing cycle :)

Its annoying because normally i might get 1 every couple of months as i keep a tight grip on my email address.

I got a mail virus today.  It's dealt with but only 4 people have this particular address, if it's not been passed on.

I ain't saying these guys are up to no good.  I think they are unaware.

I'll mail them to get them to check.
