Please help install CH Force FX in XP
« on: July 14, 2004, 05:24:01 PM »
How do I do this?  Everything I've tried results in some buttons not working or the hatswitch not working properly.

PS I have a dual boot setup so I can still program the stick if needed.

Thanks
Moochie

The ch force stick will not work with xp with a serial connection.. Must have a usb..

I do not know for sure if it will work.. but you can buy a serial to usb adapter that possibly might make it work.. But everything i remember reading in the past says that the Force stick will not work w/ xp..

You can buy the adapter at radio shack..

run a duel boot with XP and Win98SE.  when you want to use the Force FX, boot into Win98SE.

Thanks.

I read somewhere that Force FX will not work with DirectX 9, but AHII requires DirectX 9.

Is this correct?  How do I work around if so?

Thanks,
Moochie

If you're running Win98SE, the DX5 serial drivers for the Force FX should still work with DX9 since it's backwards compatible.
