Agree 100% !!!!!!! As long as I have airsped....A LOT OF IT....I dont mind the A6M5. A determaned A6M5 pilot will get you if you slow down.

The N1K2J takes the fun out of flying the F4U. If the N1K2J breathes on the F4U, you will loose already much needed parts.

The Ki-61 I fear the worse. It will latch on to you at High speeds. If the pilot is a good shot, your dead!

If byou turn fight at all, your dead.

1 vs 1 vs any Jap plane can be interesting. You can slow down, manage your energy, and not have to wory about the mach1 zero N1K2J comming in for the 20mm one hit death kill :(

Blah, Seem Ki-61 shot up easily when I fly F4U-1, but still Niki is my worse nightmare.

I find the Ki61 pretty much the least capable of the Japanese planes, it doesnt turn all that well, doesnt climb that well, its slow, but it does have OK guns. Both the A6M5 and Niki are far better, one way or another. The only reason I flew it the last Pac set was I got tired of Joust-and-Extend F4U pilots whining about all the Niki's.

One thing about PAC set ups. Tempers flare and friends go at each other pretty bad some times. Not sure why. ( well not 100% sure)

Once again you must remember the mentality and flying styles of the CT. Its an over-all "furball" arena. However, here are the stats on how the CT is played:

CT Tour 28

F4U-1D Vs A6M5
158 Kills 139 Deaths.......A6M5 SUCKS

F4U-1D vs Ki-61
32 Kills 43 Deaths.......Ki-61 SUCKS

F4U-1D vs N1K2J........78 Kills 115 Deaths...

Except for the A6M5, the F4U lost and you guys complain!

How many sorties for each...I have no idea! Its abvious though that the CT is set up for furballing.

I can stay alive if I choose too, and those times that I do try (like opposing one of Stream's missions) its lots of fun, but for your average everyday sortie is pointless to me. You like to stay alive, thats fine by me, just dont complain because 99% of the rest of the arena doesnt see it the same way as you.

I suppose you took offence to the "Joust-and-Extend" comment. That was not a slam at all F4U pilots, but it was a slam at most. Arlo for example, I fought him in his F4U many times in the last Pac set, and died every time but I had a blast because he was using....wait for it....AIR COMBAT MANEUVERS against me, not simply HO and extend. Climbing Spirals, rope-a-dopes, other engergy moves that work just as well in the F4U as in any other plane.

Getting HO'd to death all week by someone that is either without the skill or is just too lazy to try real ACM (the majority), while I desperately try to avoid it, is not fun. Getting whacked by Arlo, Slash, Duke or whoever, after they pull a great (but too risky for some wink, wink) move is as fun as getting the kill.

One thing to take into account in a game like AH is the lack of equipment failure when you are talking about why aircraft don't preform like they did in real life. I wish we could have something like that built into the game but I know that isn't going to make it better for everyone.

lol, I hate HOs myself but it is not very smart to slow down and try to dogfight in the F4U. I didnt say I couldnt do it, I just know when to and when not to
BTW I get HOed more by Zeros...err wait, I AVOID more HOs from A6M5s more than N1K2Js. Why? Because "they" think its the only way to kill a Corsair? If the .50s where worth a *****, and the A6M5 damage modeled correctly, no one in thier right mind would HO and Corsair in an A6M2 or A6M5.

And another thing, whats up with Zekes burning for five minutes?

Zeros
1st hit, fuel tank
2nd hit, another fuel tank
3rd hit, maybe engine smoke
4th hit, fighting fireball
5th hit...no, I am not stupid enough to slow down for a fifth try.

I'm sure a pilot wound is there somewhere But I cant see that!

N1J2Ks actually seem to blow up faster...as well as the Ki-61

Yeah, flaming Zekes are pretty silly, have to agree with you 100% on that one. Both Zekes always amaze me at the number of hits they can take and still keep flying, both when I'm in one and fighting one.
