Newbies,

Yesterday I encountered a guy in the Main Arena who took great offense to being shot down.  So much so that he started to flame me on the open channel.  He apparently felt that being a newbie gave him amnesty from attack.  He also expected us to recognize that he was a newbie...

A few tips:

1) There is no amnesty in the MA.  If you come in expect to be attacked.  That's the whole idea.  There are no flashing signs above your plane saying "Leave me alone".

2) If you get shot down, don't flame your attacker.  We are not likly to go easy on someone who starts off by insulting us...  Try asking him/her how you could improve.  You never know, he/she might give you some tips.

3) If you want to try flying without being shot at, go into the Training Arena.  That's what it's there for.  Also, there are trainers who will be more than happy to help you learn.

The character mentioned above calmed down and then discovered that the rest of us were more than willing to give him pointers.

We all want to have as many people online as possible.  So please note the above and you will enjoy the AH experience even more...

One more thing to add....

RTFM!!!

Online help in the MA is there and gladly given but it should NOT be a replacement for the manual.
