Model Plane Question
« on: July 19, 2004, 03:12:16 PM »
Does anyone know where to find those pre-made scale models of air force planes?  I need to find a company that sells scale models of ALL the planes, including the cargos.  I know these exist because I've seen pilots with them in their homes before.  I checked the military exchange system, but they don't have them and I've done the internet search thing as well.  I've found some models from Revell, but I really don't have time to put together 20 different models (one B1 model at 1:11 scale was enough) and they only had the fighers and bombers.  Any suggestions on where to find them would be most appreciated! (This is in relation to Mj's graduation from AF pilot training in september).

Thanks! :)

http://www.historicaviation.com

They have various choices - some are die-cast, some are simply display (plastic I presume, but preassembled), and there are some that are the real expensive mahogony ones (something like $150 a piece).

Thats the only place I know of right now, but perhaps you could email them and ask for their source(s) since you already know what you want.

No prob, but did you try using the search function?

If you don't put in what you want (die cast is going to be the cheapest), then you're going to get a listing starting with the mahogony ones that are damn expensive.

This should work to give you die cast listings:

Link to military die cast

Prices for the real small scales are about $10, the higher scales differ a lot for each scale.
