Micheal Moore is more American than any of you self-proclaimed conservatives.

Moore would be an even better American if he was an ex-patriat.

Well, Pongo, the quote is there, and is quite clear. I don't know if you've seen the movie, but I have, and my memory does not fail me. Unlike most MM groupies, whose hearing tends to come and go as they mindlessly nod in agreement to ideas they fail to fully grasp but enjoy nonetheless, I listened from beginning to end.

Go buy yourself a ticket and keep the clapping down to a dull roar towards the end. Worst case scenario, you'll be giving your messiah another couple dollars.

I read his book, "Stupid White Men" but have only seen clips from F911. And I've seen him interviewed a few times. My take ... FWIW ... is that you're all right in ways.

He hates Dubyah and Chaney ... and justifiably so. They stole the election, they have stood by and watched the middle class be decimated while the uber-rich get richer, and the have allowed their Ken Lay-esque friends to destroy America's confidence in investment and, to some degree, a brighter tomorrow. And, of course, the took us into a war because they wanted to.

He hates Americans to some degree. Yet a lot of what he says ain't that far wrong. Look at how we're having "low carb" shoved down our throats. And for most of America it's "thank you sir, may I have another." Rap music ... 'nuff said? Reality TV ... ditto.

He's a Hollywood twinkie. Just watch how he carries himself. He wants attention. You don't get attention by saying nice things about America. He thinks he's a bad boy and gets off on it.  He really isn't "saying" anything that dozens of polical writers and cartoonists also don't say on a weekly basis. He just gets it up on the big screen and the acts like a faux intellectual.

He likes money. So does Mel Gibson. After what Mel pulled with the "there was no Holocaust" crap to promote The Passion, I won't see anything that puke is in or is involved with. Moore is a similar animal - get as much controversy going to sell tickets.

As for me, I won't pay money to see F911. It won't show me anything I don't already know or suspect about what Our Government has done. I'm glad Moore made it because so many people in the country are - well - stoopid and need to have their eyes opened. But beyond that I pretty much ignore the guy.

Stole the election - right aha...

Low carb shoved down our throats? By whom?  Whay cant companies advertise their products?

Decimated the middle class? Right....

What do you have against rap music?  Plenty of people like it. Who are you to tell them otherwise?

Why cant you just let people think and decide for themselves. Why arrogantly believe others, and it seems particularly those who think differently from you, are somehow stupid or uninformed and need a special wakening from people with whom you agree?

hard to see how that works. So no one says anything, and the people decide what has happend. Based on what? Dreams? Are they going to do thier own multi million dollar investigation? Are they allowed to read books?
Does the president stop talking too?

Doesnt seem very practical.

hmm... interesting take on things..  How exactly did bush steal the election?  didn't 3 or four groups recount the ballots latter and find that gore couldn't have won no matter how many more times he got a (fair) recount?

They got us into a war because they wanted to?  maybe.. seems an odd reason tho.

I watched bowling and roger and me and they both stunk..  not that they weren't entertaining... they were just so bogus that it was painful  .... reading the plaque on that B52 was pure moore and enough for a sane person to dismiss anything else moore ever put in a movie..

maybe he is just a hollywood twinkie playing bad boy but he does have a history for hating Americans.. He was on the staff of mother jones and he never fails to tell what he thinks  of Americans when abroad..  I personally think he has an agenda that is extremely leftest... he likes money but he was born with money.. he has allways had money..

Don't know much about mel gibson but as I recall it was his father who made the hollocast comments and not him... could be wrong on that one tho.

you may be right that americans need to have their eyes opened ... It is my opinion that everyone everywhere does on occassion  but... I certainly don't think a moore movie should open anyones eyes in anythintg but shocked incredulity.   The American and British investigations into the war tell more than the BS book moore based his "documentary" on.
