Why does France want the Olympics? They plan to surrender to the pole vault?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

The first Paris Olympics were in ....1900

They were considered a complete failure. Some winners of sporting events didn't even know they were participating in the Olympics. Events were spread over a 5 month period.

The 2nd Paris Olymics in 1924 faired a little better. (See Chariots of Fire).... however...... During a rugby match between France and the US an American art student was severely caned by French spectators who were incenced at the loud rooting by the American.

(I love Olympic history)

This should explain it. (Bablefish translation from the website):

"The spirit of this film is to show that the Sport can be lived with the daily newspaper and that each one can be let gain by the Plays. An idea that one finds in the candidates' file of Paris 2012. The concept of the two Cores of site of competition has indeed as an ambition in particular to support the ambulation of the spectator in one or the other of the two Cores to enable him to fully impregnate Olympic spectacle and festival."

That should clear things up.

Er, but if this was about the Olympic summer games, why the guy dressed as a hockey goaltender?

The ad looked like a typical French rock music video. :D
