Roster for Frame 1 of Footholds
« on: July 25, 2004, 06:34:08 PM »
Below is the roster from the first Frame. Please look it over carefully.

Most of the squads were within their committed numbers, but some were not. Considering we have not flown in a few months I expected some to be over and under their numbers, but for Frame 2 their will not be any excuses. This goes double for squads that have too many pilots. All squads are allowed to go 2 under and 2 over their committed numbers. You will notice that each step up give one extra in the range. This makes it easier for the larger squadrons to stay in the range.
4-6 spread of 2
7-10 spread of 3
11-15 spread of 4
16 -21 spread of 5

For example the Rouge Squadron that committed 4-6 pilots they could have as few as 2 and as many as 8 and still be within the limits. Shillelagh is another example. They have committed 7-10 pilots. They could go as low as 5 pilots and as high as 12 pilots and still be in the acceptable range.

This is all done so Admin CM’s can balance the frames/sides. That is why we want C.O.’s or X.O.’s to keep track of who is flying and then update prior to every Squad Ops (once a month) what they expect their numbers to be. If we did not track the squad numbers it would be impossible to balance sides. All squads have low numbers now and again. That is not such a big deal. Real life gets in the way at times. I think my squad has been low a couple of times, but when we have a squad with high numbers the C.O. or X.O. needs to tell someone to sit out. Not any fun, but maybe the last squadie or two to show up needs to sit out if you are over your numbers. Sure would make sure everyone shows up on time. ;) Another option is for a squadie to exit his squad and fly with another that night. Then before everyone leaves he can join back in his squad. A hassle yes, but it allows someone to fly that might not be able to and also could help out a squad that is low on numbers. All I look at is squad numbers, not who is flying with who.

Squads with in acceptable ranges
Rouge Squadron 4-6 (3 pilots)
Shillelagh 7-10 (9 pilots)
The Dammed 4-6 (8 pilots)
Dogz of War 7-10 (6 pilots)
Sickpuppies 4-6 (6 pilots)
Airmageddon 4-6 (6 pilots)
FATE 7-10 (6 pilots)
332nd Flying Mongrels 11-15 (12 pilots)
880 Squadron 4-6 (6 pilots)
Arabian Knights 11-15 (11 pilots)
412th FS 4-6 (8 pilots)
325th FG 4-6 (3 pilots)
Birds of Prey 7-10 (10 pilots)

Squads with low numbers
U.S.M.C 11-15 (8 pilots)
Marine Air Wing 7-10 (4 pilots)

Squad with high numbers
Nightmares 16-21 (25 pilots)
68th Lightning Lancers 11-15 (18 pilots)
III Jabostaffle LW 4-6 (11 pilots)

Squads that did not show up
Gravediggers 4-6 pilots ?
Sky Nights 4-6 ?

Gravediggers, and Sky Nights anyone know what happened to them?

daddog:

I think there is a synch problem or something.  Checking on the FSO pages I see the 412th listed as 7-10 though I noticed the roster you posted said 4-6.  Not sure where the difference is.  I know that I registered the squad as 7-10 as well when the 412th signed back into FSO.  Thoughts?

dtango, I "think" what you were looking at was the original sign up page. This has numbers that don't change.
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/list_fri.php

There is another page that lists current sides that has the numbers squads sent the Admin CM prior to each month Squad Operations.
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/assignments_fri.php

Look at those links on the left side of the Squad Ops page
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/frame_main.php
and you will see one for each of the above I mentioned.

This is a point of confusion for a lot of squads. I should just ask Gremlin to remove the numbers listed on the first link above, that way squads will just go look at the "side assignments" link.

Of course it could be I made a mistake which would not surprise anyone. ;) If you feel the 412th should be 7-10 for this months Squad Ops and not 4-6 I will be more than happy to change that for you. :) Let me know.
Remember at 4-6 your real range is 2-8 and 7-10 your real range is 5-12. Let me know which one works best for and your squad.

Ah ok!  Yes, it's confusing.  What's the process for updating the monthly commitments?  And yes please change the 412th FS for 7-10 (5-12) range.  Thanks!

Did something become askewed in the transfer over from AH1?

Standard Friday night participation is 11-16
Standard Sunday Particaption is 4-6

Sorry if something was overlooked, but if you can, look back at previous events and you will find that these numbers are more inline.

LOL It will be off.

JB42, could have been an error on my part. I never heard from you/your squad about your numbers when we started up again. See this thread.

I never heard from your squad. Are you getting the e-mails we send out from the Squad Ops site? I assumed you guys might have dropped out or would have low numbers. Since I can't read minds ;) I lowered your numbers. I will be happy to update it now. You want 7-10 or 11-15?
