Originally posted by Raubvogel It's not the 7th Armored Cav. It no longer functions as a regiment. There are the 1/7 Cav and 2/7 Cav. They're basically the reconnaissance elements of the 1st Cav Division. There's also the 3/7 Cav which serves as the reconnaissance element of the 3rd Inf Division. 4/7 Cav is part of the 2nd Inf Div stationed in Korea. I think they're talking about reactivating the 5/7 Cav and attaching it to the 3rd ID, but not real sure about that. The greeting of the day when saluting officers, etc is still "Garry Owen."
