1024x768 ... seems to make no diff from 800x600 (FR wise). I'd say the vid card and bumping my ram up to 512 made all the difference (that and Pyro's patchwork).

im going for the 9600xt or 9800PRO (only 20$ more but uses more power), amd64 2800 and 512 ram.

I "have" to run at my LCD's native res @ 1280*1024 tho.

That's a civilian Albatross. I was the last individual to qualify on Navy HU-16s in 1976. I flew the last operational sortie of a Navy Amphibian (a SAR mission out of GTMO) later that same year. HU-16s soldiered on with the Coasties for a few more years. Our HU-16D was outfitted for VIP use and is currently in long-term storage as part of the Naval Aviation Museum's collection of unrestored aircraft.

I have fond memories of the Albatross.

Also, the Navy flew the J2F Duck extensively. They had the bulk of the production.
