1 AM? Bet if you look around long enough you will find a nest nearby.
Wasps are BAD this year particularly here in NJ.
Last job I did I found and killed no less then 12 seperate nests one one house alone including 2 in the same bush and one group that seemed to be immune to the kills on contact knock down spray I use.
all together this year i've come across more Wasp nests in the ast 3 weeks then I have the last 5 years combined.
Last time I was stung by anything was by a white faced hornet last year, Shot at me like a bullet then got tangled in my beard before I chould get rid of it.
Amazingly it didnt hurt much or for very long.
The worst sting I've felt was from a yellow jacket that got me in the upper arm.
My whole arm hurt like hell and felt like it was gonna fall off for about 10 minutes.
Had a pretty cool experiance a couple years ago and saw the wasps from one nest attack another nest.
I decided I didnt want any part of getting in the middle of that fight and just watched em for about 20 min before moving on to another portion of the house.
Wiped out both nests 2 days later.
BTW what were you doing out in the yard at 1AM with both hands full anyway?
