Control stick is behind the dash. Is it supposed to be like this, as in it's not a control stick?

When in position 2, look up and behind when gun is facing forward. Half a compass coming through the wall
In position 6 you can uparrow yourself through the gunsight
Altitude indicator on dash is missing the fat arrow
