Photoshop question

Ok, I have a 32bit PSD file and I want to save it at a depth of 8bits into a bmp.  When I go to save as a bmp, it wont allow me to save as 8bit.  What can I do to fix this?

Nother question. (This is my first time using anything adobe)

When I go to make a line in the shape tool, it makes the line fine.  Then I go to put another line in the same layer, but I place it and it goes into another layer.  How do I change this so that all the lines I place are on the same layer?

I'm not sure you can make it go on the same layer.  However, you can just merge the two layers into one.  Just make the other layers in your image invisible by clicking the eye in the layer window next to those layers, then highlight one of the line layers, then go to menu>layers>merge visible.
Three Times One Minus One.  Dayum!
