hypothetical situation

say Osama Bin Laden runs out of places to hide in the middle east, and ends up in France and claims political asylum or some other BS.  The european country cannot extradite him because they do not use the death penalty, and its against their law to extradite to a country that does, but they can lock him up for life.......

what would the USA do?

UK gave political asylum to Chechen terrorist commander Ahmad Zakayev, convicted in multiple murders and terror acts, and he is doing quite fine...

one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

And anyway, i thought the extradition process had started for him?

All Russian arguments including videotapes from Chechen "ministry of propaganda" were found useless and he got political asylum :( Vanessa Redgrave is his best friend...

A person killing Orthodox priests can hardly be called a "freedom fighter". As well as a peson killing mullahs or Catholic pastors.

If he's friends with Vanessa Redgrave he's no one's freedom fighter.

Sit back and watch as they suffer repeated terrorist attacks demanding his release.
