I need to do some more research on cruisers as well. At first glance, they're awfully slow. My current Merlin has a top speed of 297 m/s. I've played around with energy weapons, but I don't think I have the armor necessary to get in a toe to toe slug fest, so it's back to the rail guns until I figure out what I want to configure.

Tell me about it.  I took a kill mission from a level II agent today.  It had 5 graitus frigates and a freakin cruiser.

The cruiser kicked my arse in short order and after losing three merlins in one day I decided to give up on the mission.

BTW do you know how to use defender missles?  I set it to autofire but they werent fireing.   Do you actually have to target the incoming missle and fire the defender??????

Anyhow I'm back up to about 800K and I'm doing all the research needed for a cruiser.  My goal is to have one in a week.

If anyone is stuck or cant figure anything out hit me up.. my name is "zeroa". I Usually by the Kisogo war station.

If you want to find out where your stuff is at there is a icon on the left side called "assets"  That will show you what stations hold your stuff. Then just Right click on the one that has your stuff and select "set Destination" and once you undock click on your auto pilot and sit back and wait.  Your auto pilot will only take you to the system not the station.

I *highly* recommend training Learning skills first.  It'll help massively reduce training times later on.

Learn them in this order:

1) Memory 1234
2) Intellect 1234
3) Learning 1234
4) Perception 1234
5) Will power 1234

The exact name of the skill is different.  eg, perception = "Spatial Awareness"

I'm just about finished with the Learning skill.  Training to lvl 4 at the moment.

there is a link in the other Eve thread that has a link for a free download and a free two week trial.

again anyone know how to use defender missles?  I'm making a 8 jump sortie just to learn FOF missles cause I'm tired of waisting them.

anyhow....I'm taking time off of missions to collect some assets....pretty bad when I have over 230 assets spread out over 24 systems.

Im gonna need some help with ships....

I traded up to the cheap Caldari frigate (Bantam) and while its warp speed is faster (6 AU/sec) the power drains quicker - can I buy a larger generator or something?

Click the yellow button near the bottom middle portion of your hud :)

You can set a keymapping in the config menu (escape).

As for increasing your power output, you can purchase Engineering skills such as basic engineering or another one called 'power grid usage' or something similar.  If there's an item that modifies any atribute on your ship, there's probably a skill category you need to learn before being able to use it.  Engineering will give you an increase on pwoer output per level.   But, imo,  you're better off buying a better ship.  That 5% doesnt really do much with early characters :)
