As much as I want to go SLI NVidia for this, I may end up going ATI instead, mostly because of the problems the 64 AMD/NVidia are having in AH.

I was really hoping Skuzzy would pop in and give a heads up on the problem in the sticky above.

Del, that is only an issue with the X2 dual core CPU's, which your San Diego 4000 is not. You will have no issues like that with your CPU.

Having said that, SLI is overkill for AH, its much more CPU dependant. A single 6800 or 7800 card will not get pushed 100% by your CPU at this point.

Deli, I did not comment as I do not use AMD and cannot recommend any Intel CPU right now either.

It's a bad time to need to build a system, from my perspective.

stay away from PNY. they have quality control probs.
 for a power supply check here they have 5 year warrenty and will backit up. had one go bad after 3 years and got free replacement no questions asked. if your not going sli get ine of the silencers.

I build a lot of computers... mostly gaming systems and I wont use PNY products due to bad experiences with them in the past so I couldnt agree more.... I also couldnt agree more about the mention of AH being more cpu dependant as I am running an ATI X800 256mb pci express video card and AH only uses about 76mb of the video memory. I do like the ATI cards much better than the nVidias for the simple fact that I had to return an nVidia via RMA once and it took me almost 2 monthes to get the card back, I have never had to RMA an ATI card yet but from those I know who have they havent had anything bad to say about ATI's service and the return time was within 24 hours of them receiving it.:aok
