Pieces of Airbases & Coastlines appear/dissappear

The point I do not have any problems with other games....

IMHO HTC uses some feacher in Dx9.0 (it hadn't happended to me in Dx8 versions if I remember correct) that is some way buggy in some ATI drivers and part of them do not supported by ATI itself (like Dell company that suits ATI drivers for mobility cards according to their system).

I think it should be known bug by ATI if it was fixed in certain drivers.........

The only problem is following:
1. You must find out where is that bug comes from - IMHO - HTC should contact ATI and find the source of the problem with this graphic cards.
2. This problem should be overrided in some way in HTC code.

If people buy new graphics ATI card (that has big part of the graphics card marked with well known name) and finds out that it doens not work with HTC code....... I think it is just bad relation to customers from HTCs side.

Yes it is bug in ATI card drivers (maybe?????) but why most of other games doesn't have same problem? That means that this problem can be overrided.

And yes HTC I know it is not your job to fix that bug in ATI drivers and they should work according to graphics cards specks but..........
the real situations shows that this bug will not be fixed for large part of RADEON customers that have some other system configurations - in near future.

And that is because ATI is huge company and HitechCreations is company of 5 pleople (with all respect to the great job you do HTC ) and the marked has its rules..........

Maybe this bug is not in most important bugs list like crashes and others but it should be defenetly fixed/overrided in near future. That is important to lots of HTC customers

ATI has new 98/ME drivers!  Catalyst v4.7.  Has anyone had a chance to try these yet?

Catalyst 4.7 appears to contain exactly the same video driver as 4.3.  Alas still no fix for 98/me users.

Downloaded cat 4.7 and directx9.0c, still runway and ground textures disapearing. It is verry difficult to hit aa installations with having them disapearing and reapearing.

It happens to me on all textures that are on the ground, roads, runway, air field grass, paved surface around aa guns, paved square where the hangars are on.

Any fix yet? Or just that it does not work on win98/me? Then the requirements should be changed...

It seems that ATI cards after 9200 are hardware configured for DX9.1. (as well as using appropriate drivers)

Earlier cards are only software configured for DX9.1 via later drivers.

ATI obviously use differing drivers for win98/me than they do for win NT/XP.

AH2 is DX9 dependant.

We should note that Nvidia cards designed originally for DX 8.1 do not suffer this problem.

This matrix shows that the problem should lie  within ATI's drivers  DX9 functionality under win98/me for cards 9200 and earlier.

If you read thru ATI's resolved fixes for 4.7 under Win XP you will note that other (more popular games) have had similar issues which have been fixed by ATI.

If the above is true then "the problem" cannot be solved by HTC the best they might come up with is a "work around". It seems to be related to transitions. I have not had time to play with the TE but it seems that base underlays are in fact "transitions" or use transition like formats.
