I've been working on a new one.  It's not finished, but you can get what I've written so far at:  http://www.engr.orst.edu/~bloom/AHFaq1.doc

Hope it helps!  :)

Bloom, when it goes 'gold', could you send me the URL?  I will add it to some training material I have accumulated for new students...thanks a bunch!  This is great!

Hiya's,
Bloom may i suggest adding this one, I learned it off by heart as i used to be "The Format C: King" !!!

Scanreg should at default keep 3ish good reboots stored, Now say you d/load or install something that makes system unstable or FUBAR well besides Formatting C: there is a simple quick fix   :)
Reboot and usually hold down F8 (or whatever ya manual says to get to command prompt)to get to command prompts, There choose command prompt only, Now you should be in pure dos as i call it, You type this.....  scanreg/restore  and hit enter/return, Now you should see options with dates next to them, Simply choose a date which was a good clean bootup and install it   :)
There ya go windows restores a bootup sequence from a previous cleen boot

Now to save system before doing something dodgy/fubarish goto Start/Run and type   scanregw  ...... this saves system so to speak just in case sytem does fubar and you need to do the above

Have Fun

Def

EDIT...realise it's a AH faq but i used to format when i fubar'ed AH  lol
