I think the KKK and the Democratic Presidential Nominee are 2 entirely different things. But that's just me.

Eh? Im not defending my point when Im explaining why I made that decision? He openly took a political stand, I dont like it, I will never give him another cent. How hard is that for you to understand? What is there to explain?

And my question still stands. Suppose one of your favourite artists came out as a KKK supporter. Would you still give him your money?

Hortlund...do you still intend to d/l his songs? I wouldn't do either (buy or d/l), but not for politics.

If you REALLY hate his political stance it seems somewhat hypocritical to still listen to his music. Even if you stole it from the net.

I say "somehwhat" because his music is a different kettle of fish from his politics, nonetheless based upon how strong your political convictions are I would have assumed that what Bruce is doing would affect your desire to even hear him sing.

Not an attack at all, I'm just curious.

Nah, I love his songs. Some people find that strange because he is a working-class writer (in the text-sense I mean) and Im a neocon [insert omnious music].

Me on the other hand, I dont find it strange at all. I dont think anyone can capture an emotion in a textline the way he can. He is the Boss...nuff said. I have listened to Springsteen since I was 13-something, and I have all his records.

I have always known he has had his sympathies to the left. I can live with that. In fact I dont have a problem with that. Now he comes out and start campaigning for Kerry. I have a huge problem with that. One of the consequences of his support for Kerry is that I will never again give Springsteen a cent. And I can honestly say that I hope everyone else does the same.
