Terpentine,
and dandelion wine,
I turn the corner I'm doin fine.
Shootin at the birds on the telephone line,
pickin em off with this gun of mine.
Got a fire in my belly
got a fire in my head,
I'm goin higher an higher
Untill I'm dead.
The sun shines bright,
On my ol' Kentucky home,
Where the young kids crawl
on the floor.
The sun shines bright
on my ol' Kentucky home,
keep them hard times
away from my door.
Brother Gene
was big and mean
an' he didn't have much to say.
Had a little woman that he whooped each day,
but now she's gone away.
He got drunk last night
kicked momma down the stairs,
but I'm allright,
cause I'm OK
The sun shines bright,
on my ol' Kentucky home,
And the young kids roll on the floor.
The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home,
keep them hard times away from my door.
That's an old Ry Cooder song. I lost that LP years ago, wish I could find 'Boomer's Story' again. That was one of his first albums. Good stuff.
