Well, 99% of secured software won't run unless dongle is on physical LPT, but you could test anyway.

Just network both of your machines and capture LPT port on one, swap the dongle and see if it works.

nice nuttz, you've done well for yourself, good for you. (and i genuinely mean that)

But... and i have to put this in.... $250,000 would buy you a 1 bedroom flat (or condo whatever you yanks call it) here, not a nice house! ;)

this is average house price in UK, prices in and around london are much more inflated.

154,299.00 GBP  =  281,751.28 USD

NUTTZ, the dongle will not read across a network, it must be physically installed on the computer the software is going to run on.
The software opens the physical LPT port to read the license key from the dongle to insure the software is licensed.  This direct access by-passes any attempt to read it across a network.

Terminal server is a work around to the dongle security, I havent seen win98 app that you couldn't remove the dongles driver and replace with the I386 version yet..
My neighbor has that embroidery package I didn't realize it cost so much, must be why they take a cruise every 3 months...

Well, I've learned that if I have a question for any HTC person, I'll send it in an e-mail. My skin's too thin.;)

Thanks, that was the answer i wanted, before i wasted money.

In the post after this IKON suggested my second guess. IF the software and the dongle was on a server could another computer access it and work the program?

What he is suggesting is a bit of a hack.  I do not suggest those types of things, as there are normally side effects to them.

No offense 1kon.

OK, Thanks. I wasn't doing anything illegal I DID buy the 2 security dongles and software.

Skuzzy, Thanks for taking time to answer the questions.

And 1KON and others , thanks also for the suggestions.

NUTTZ
P.S. Anyone know where I can buy a MoBo with a chipset other than VIA and has  AGP and 1 ISA slot? Of course it would have to hold a CPU at least a 1 gig.

I think NUTTZ has a bigger dongle than AWMac does and that AWMac has dongle envy.

Just saying....

When under the gun one is forced to be creative when salesmen make promises ""sure it can do that"
Or beware of salesmen with forked tongue...

A better option is to have the SW company dload the Dongle SDK and repackage it for their customers with the USB dongle drivers and parrallel drivers, then user could move to these new ne legacy MB's without any bumps..
