well i finally did it...bye bye WB

Yep, finally canceled my WarBirds account.

Haven't even used the $10.00 per month mininmum since HT invited me to be on the AH Alpha team last summer.

I used to run up $300.00 per month WB bills back in the "good ol daze" hehe.
I flew WB since version .97 I think, the one that had the "racetrack" field, remember that?

I had loads of fun in WB over the years, but IMO, its gone steadily downhill ever since it went "big business". Customer service, game improvements, and the "community attitude" all went down the tubes.

The best thing left in WB was the HA, which I still few a bit over the last few months,  but when I logged on recently I got really frustrated emptying a full ammo load into a bogey only to have it fly away...the guns are useless in the recent version..and this is not the first time.
Remember the "shed tests" that proved low end CPU's were shooting harmless bullets? Was that version 2.01?

Anyhow, Bye Bye WB.

Thanks to Aces High, I can still get my fix of flying this "cybercrack" daily and I'm having as much fun as WB ever was.

Btw, been having a blast in the TA recently, if anyone is interested in some fun h2h duels, look me up!

See yaz up there,

Hehe, just keep in mind, it's not  the software that kept you  coming back, it's the community, and guess what, the community is moving to better software!

Canceled my "2nd love" back in December, in January I removed it from the hard drive.  Been living without AW (my first love) since 1994

Yeah.....IMO had a tendency to make a person feel more like a shuttlecock than a customer.

Oh....did I say Moses I meant Hitech.

Torque;

I look at your F4U picture and I see a centerline drop tank.  What model F4U is in that picture?

Yeah I dropped my WB account a couple days ago too.  I wonder if iEN is feeling the pinch yet, or if there are enough newbies flowing in to keep the bottom line up.

Gotta be a -1A.

av8r,

I'll H2H with ya!

If ya promise to keep hands off the JS and your eyes closed!!!

78% chance av8r will still win!

I'd felt alot safer if ya would of stayed in WB!!!

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

av8r I'd gladly go for more H2H sessions, last ones learned me a lot about AH (which I joined last week). can't get to close my Warbirds account yet, but how different it feels now - for a start after this AH flying my gunnery in WB has gone to hell.

I spent some time trying to figure out how to say this without sounding like an ass.  Then I came to the realization that I am an ass, so it really doesn't matter.

Welcome to AH.  I'm glad you decided to play.  The more people in the arena the better for everyone.  It is especially nice to see more experienced pilots joining our ranks.

As far as Warbirds goes, I really don't care if you cancelled your account or not and don't really see the need to announce it here.  That seems a bit harsh, but it isn't intended to be that way.  Whatever problems you had with WB is between you and iEN and that community.

I just don't see the need for Warbirds bashing on an AH board.
