Salute back at 'cha!  I wish we had time for a 3rd frame, I think we battled into a tie on the 2 we had!

Dogfighting in the clouds is simply a blast, one either hates them or loves them, personally I love it!

Bucs got a good squad!  Cya's up!

Ditto, Ripsnort, and salute to you and your fellow JG2 pilots (except for BaneX, who shot me in my chute in frame 2   ).  The fight was pretty even I think, and fighting in and out of the clouds added to the excitement.  My connects were somewhat unreliable for frame 1, tho I still managed to down one Jerry.  For frame 2, my connects were plenty solid enough for BaneX to wax my emphenage pretty quick.

BTW, I descovered that the La-5, unlike some other A/C in AH, is unflyable with half a wing missing   .  I bailed successfully, just at the base of F1's plateu. I had just turned to begin walking back to base -- one of the ROE's was that you could replane if you bailed or ditched okay, but had to walk back to base or be rescued by a C-47 -- when BaneX swooped down and strafed me.  In all fairness to BaneX, he was reacting to that very ROE; the fight was still going strong, and had I lived I indeed would have been airborn five or ten minutes later to rejoin the fight.  Another ROE was one life/frame, you see.  We were over Russian territory, and the LW were way behind our lines.  No hard feelings, BaneX   .

Sorry I couldn't stay on and team up with JG2 in the main.  Again, thx for the great time.

I missed out on the 2nd round, since I was probably the 1st to die.  Due to on-line anger management problems, I shut my PC off immediately and did something else the rest of the night   .

Is there an official score?  I know we won the first round, since there was 4 of us left chasing one remaining LA-5, whom I put a few rounds in myself.  I think there might have been one more LA-5 up high as well, but even so, we were still up bodies.

I'm not sure what happened to me in round 2, as I had 3 k's and a damage in round 1.  I was on the defensive, and remember reading that nothing outside of a runstang can catch a G-10 on the deck.  Well, that intel is hosed, since I was caught on the deck after a 4000 ft power dive by one of those nasty commie's.  Of course, if I was a better pilot, I would know what to do one somebody is at my 6 and closing.  At around 700, I start thinking, and at 500, I'm usually dead.  GRRRR!!!

My accuracy is pretty good when I have a target to shoot at (see round 1, hehe), but whoopee if I'm not one of the most piss-poor energy fighters on the planet.

HELLLP!!!!!  Any advice would be appreciated.

<S> to the Bucs

Great fun last nite.  You know these mini-scen are real white knuckle stuff!  First of all you try to fly in formation, as a #2 in a Rotte I have to keep up with my leader, field RW calls, keep your SA up and then you add CLOUDS.

I got 1 kill and 1 assist in the first go round befor I got a 20mm enema.  The second flight we all took FW 190s and I wound up as a manuver kill for someone as I spun low.  Need to work on the FW skills.

Thanks again Bucs.

GMAN,

I was the one that got you in the second round.  I got on your six early on when you were attacking my flight lead.  I shot, missed (as usual), then you broke into a beautiful spiral dive.  I fought like hell to keep with you, getting at least one or two hits from extreemely blind lead shots (you were under my nose when I hit you).  When you pulled out of the dive and started extending, I relaxed a bit on the stick and let my slight altitude advantage and that montrol engine under the hood do something for me.  To be truthful, I was about to break off at range 400+ (my convergence is set to 300), when I noticed you flying straight and level.  So, I lined up a desperate shot with apparently just the right elevation and fired a quick burst.  To my surprise, I saw hit sprites, then smoke, then pieces of aircraft.  I guess I must have softened things up with my earlier hits.

Whatever you do, don't let this get you down!  You're a good pilot in a good squad.  Learn from them and you'll soar

And don't feel bad about going down so early in the fight.  In frame 1, I was the designated casualty.  Ripsnort shot me down before I could stop my head from spinning after the first merge.

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better.  After I shot you down, I turned back to help my flight-mate camel dispatch an annoying FW190 and wound up a hood ornament trying unsuccessfully to avoid a nasty HO situation.  Nice shot, weazel.

<S> GMAN!

Was alot of fun...

1st flight my wingie and I extended to south
to engage, then made mistake of turning back to rejoin jg2. We lost our e and swager was the first down with me following rather quickly.

2nd run banex, rocket, and I went w to get flanking bucs. bane got in trouble, rocket was trying to clear his 6. I dove down and  finished the buc off (got assist). Rocket, banex and I then extended to recover alt.
Re-engaged to e, 1 kill and racked the cowling of another before I went down. Little while later banex grabbed his chute. As we went down we could see 2-3 bucs smoking but getting away.
