the Cars were a very innovative and accomplished late '70s band in a transitional time in popular American music.  Rick Ocasek is brilliant and he gets to pipe Paulina Porizkova.  What could possibly be wrong with that.   Ben Orr.

I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover and I'm a sinner.  I play my music in the suuuuuuuuuun.  Hates Steve Miller, Get a rope!!!!!

The Cars were a great recording band.  ...so many great hits.  Live, they put on one of the least energetic shows I've ever seen.  It looked like they were practicing, barely moving in the course of the 1.5 hour show (Boston Garden, 87ish).

Never saw them live but by '87 they were a few years down the road from old news.

I saw them in New Jersey in 1985 and had the exact same reaction.

The Cars and The Police were big favs back then, but I am actually rediscovering some obscure stuff I listened to back then.

I never realized why I liked em back then, but listening to Echo and the Bunnymen is like listening to a cross between Velvet Underground and the Doors.

Oh well, retreating back into obscurity now.
