Wow. I haven't gone online yet and seen this in action, but based on people's response and the description of the new "feature" I have my own concerns:

1) Part of the allure of a game like AH is the attachment the players develop for "their plane." Some people love P51D's, some 109F's, and so on. When you take away their plane of choice - their sentimental and emotional choice for how they play the game - for reasons which are beyond their control that will come across as unfair.

2) "Go change countries" - why should you have to?  So an hour later when everyone does that you're stuck for 24 hours in planes you don't want to fly?

3) This really penalizes the people who don't play every night. If you only have time to fly a couple night a week, and when you show up you can't fly what you like to fly, or have to change sides to do so (for a while) - why even bother? (This is not an incitement to "strike" - just the perspective of someone who doesn't play this game every night.)

4) The "problem" I saw with Perks is that these are only a limiting factor to people who can't play 4 hours a night. So Perk'ing the La7 and P51 and so on would cut down on the numbers of these planes, but really only by taking them away from the "low mileage" players. So I can see why HT felt he had to do something - just I don't think this was the answer.

5) "Learn to fly other planes" ... again, why should you be FORCED to? I fly 3 or 4 different fighters, so this don't matter much to me. But a lot of people don't want to learn another plane, don't want to mess up something that's working for them, or simply don't have the experience needed to transition to another plane every other day.

6) Imbalanced odds have always been part of this game. It usually self-regulates because if you're on a country which always outnumbers everyone it tends to get kind of dull.

So ... what about a compromise. Suppose this new load-balancer only affected plane availability at captured fields? Meaning if you're country has 2:1 odds on people, once you start gaining ground you have to sustain your offensive without La7's and all  the quasi-uber planes.

Or ... what if some planes were semi-perked? That is, they become perked when the load-balancer kicks in and stay perked until the odds settle down. At least then you let players have their choice.
