I have both onboard(disabled in Properties) and PCI video cards. The PCI is what I use for the newer games, but now I want to use the onboard for older games. Is there a way to do tyhis without the drivers interacting?

In Device Manager uninstall your display adapter then install the onboard video. Reboot computer.

But before you do all that. Most computer hardware is backward compatible. Older programs should work fine with the newer hardware. However, the software side may give you a headache.

Windows is kinda picky about software. If you have WinXP you can set it to emulate older Windows OS's (95, 98, NT, etc.)

So I can have both cards' drivers on my computer at once and just enable/disable them when I need them? I used to be able to run my old games on this comp untill I got the GeForce, even if I run compatibility mode.

AFAIK it's ok as long as only one device is active (installed).

When looking at the onboard graphics info in Device Manager check the driver tab and make sure the onboard graphics is linked to the right driver. If you use the "update driver" button it should be ok.

You may have to go to the Microsoft website just to make sure of the drivers id numbers.
