Wooden pallets (the good ones) are expensive cuz they're usually made out of a hardwood, like Maple.

The plastic pallets are like Gold, so I keep those in the building.
Geez my dad only gets paid 1.70 for the 40x40s he brings in. Down here in portland plastics dont sell for much.

The overwhelming irony of the title of this thread, the person who posted it and the topic of the post is more than I can stand.

God help me.

40x48 3 boards cost 10. bucks, so your dad is stealing them, costing US 10.00 bucks, and getting paid 1.70$ for them.

Generally, they are green oak around here.

LOL he is not stealing them my dad is not that type of guy. Really the only reason he does pallets is to pay for his schooling to become a commerical piolt. he simplys has contracts with companys. They give him free 40x40. Only if he hauls away there junk pallets to. 40x48 are not worth 10 us dollars. at the most worth 30cents.

rofl   Morph would you please give the kid a break. You stay on his case about his posts. A lot of your posts don`t come off like brain surgeon studies themselves. :D

When oil wells dry out, we will be using WOOD to heat the steam engines. Think about THAT next time you dispose your companys wooden property.

A few years back we had keg parties in our backyard all the time.  We would take pallets from the grocery store down the road to use for the bonfire.  Throw 3-4 pallets on hot coals, man those things give off some heat.  Roomate left his cooler too close and before anyone could notice it had melted.

Alas .... current gas prices makes transporting pallets from NJ to Oregon via dumbtruck impractical.
