A girl from Russia set a new WR 4.91... amazing :)

Our girl got bronze... but it was a great fight and it's a really great result for her :)

Other then that, she's really nice ;)

After a rather 'strange' opening night the actual sports turned out to be more entertaining than I expected.   All in all, the Greeks did a good job of hosting the games.

Local girl...

Joanna Hayes. First woman from our area (Riverside, CA) to compete in Olympic Track & Field since Rosie Bonds in 1964. Rosie had a brother who was a pretty good ballplayer, and a nephew who hits homeruns once in a while.

Anyway Joanna is the 1st gold medalist in T&F ever from Riverside. WTG Joanna!

The Aussie beach team won my admiration last night.

Natalie Cook face-down in the sand after re-injuring her shoulder late in Game Two.  The two Aussie ladies won that game against a #4 world-ranked US duo and forced the match into the third and final game.
