....you had complete control of a nation for one year, and no bad repercussions existed ? ie. You decide to nuclear stike a nation and no other nation would retaliate. The only bad repercussion that would exist is if you decided to go to war with a country, they could defend themselves, but without nuclear or biological weapons.

Start slashing silly servant jobs and entitlement programs.  Properly fund health care, the military, and intelligence services.

Change the Canadian Pention Plan so my generation doesn't get ****ed...maybe cut it all to gether and give the money back depending on how much was put in.  

Stop buying USD and thus balancing trade between the US and Canada.

Remove the "notwithstanding clause" from the Constitution.

I had control of a nation in a gifted studies class back in high school for a year. I ended up attacking everyone and out witting them all. My country doubled in size. Though I kinda came of like Hitler (except I didn't commit and genocide). I even backstabbed my allies when it suited my needs. Was lots of fun.

My first 10 decrees:

1st. Enact an irrevocable law, that from this time forward any law passed by congress would require 2 to be repealed.

2nd. Any law passed by congress will be of one subject. No riders to any bill would be allowed that did not have a direct relationship to the original subject of the bill.

3rd. All legislators would be disbarred for life, lawyers would be ineligible to run for office unless they resign from the bar.

4th. Close all law schools for 10 years, and after that decade open them with a quota system that limits the number of lawyers to a definite, small number / 1000 adults

5th. Congress would be limited to 14 days in Washington.  Each senator or representative would be required to spend 45 weeks of each year in his / her home district, and votes and debates would occur over a secure network.  This gives constituents more access to their representatives, and makes lobbyists access more difficult.

6th. Lawyers would not be paid through contingency fees paid from court winnings.  They would be paid only by an hourly wage.

7th. Choke off all worldwide economic ties with any state which advocates terror, and recruit insurgent forces to overthrow such regimes.  Any state, which is so changed, would then become under the control of an international force, which would oversee the writing of a constitution and the start of a constitutional democracy.

8th. Enact a worldwide common currency.  Any local economic problems would not cause huge local inflation due to the value inertia in the currency.  Savings would not be rendered meaningless and no Weimar republic situations where a wheelbarrow was required to buy groceries

9th. Nuclear energy would make a comeback, large reactors generating electrical power and producing hydrogen.  Fissionable material and reactor cores would be in underground bunkers impervious to surface attack, only redundant support systems would be accessible on the surface.  This begins the hydrogen economy.

10th. Borders would be redrawn in the Middle East and Africa based upon tribal and cultural considerations not leftover colonial claims.

I wouldn't get to Executive perks until No. 11
