superfly removed the top star overlay to make the top scheme more versatile for different US star configurations and detail.

he left the lower wing one on because the texture is mirrored.
its not going to get seen much so if its a US plane its not a big deal that the star dont have bars. just the way the skin is. it will still look good.

Oboe - USSTAR1 was in the saved P40E directory from AH2.

Thanks for the info guys. I did throw my Dikam Death skin up on ah-skins.com. I may do a little more work on it and send it in. I'm still in the learning phase of this whole skinning business. I've fiddle around with paint programs but only goofing around.

Very interesting. My HTC/Aces High II/skins/p40e directory had 69 files and the last one alphabetically was TRIM.bmp.

I went into AH2 and resaved the P-40E skin, shut down AH2, and then looked again, and now there are 96 files there and the last one is USSTAR1_a.bmp.

So apparently my first "save" of the skin didn't extract all of the files correctly...

Keep at it, Cobra! Your skin is lookign good! I'm just a fiddler, too. Some of these guys' skins are absolutely amazing...
