Online degrees

Lots of online colleges and degrees now.  Do these degrees hold up when going for a job interview?  Also, how important is accredidation?

They hold up IF they are from an accredited school. Accreditation means they are a legitamate institute of higher education and not "Bob's Printing" that is having a sale on diplomas.

Those schools offering you a degree on "life experience" instead of actual courses are nothing more than a scam. Presenting one to a potential employer shows him just what kind of employee to expect.

Not all online schools are a scam. There are many accredited universities that have online degree programs. Their degree does not state whether you took the courses in house or online, just that you passed the required courses. A lot of on-campus classes now require online work (lectures, ect) to be done.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

rpm speaks the truth.  My wife who works in HR many times encounters people who have degrees from non-accredited online deploma factories.  Their resumes go in the circular file.

And even if the school is acredited, be careful not to fall with the wrong crowd:
