Dx 9.0c
« on: August 31, 2004, 11:16:28 AM »
The Microsoft site does not specifically say that Dx 9.0c is compatible with XP SP2... the list of OSs ends at XP SP1.

So I have a copy of the SP2 Update installer and a copy of the Dx 9.0c installer burned to a CD. Should I install one, both, or neither? My feeling is to wait a little on this one with both.

Thoughts?

Dx9c is included in the SP2 update so it better be compatible.

So far my only complaint about SP2 is that it defaults Remote Assistance "ON". Could be a hole in security so I turned it off.

So far so good here with SP2.

Sp2 does not Alter any "services" settings.  I already had the settings associated with Remote Assistance disabled and it stayed off.
No problems for me with SP2/DX9c but I turned off Windows firewall.  I connect through a router with a hardware firewall and run Sygate's firewall.

Yes I assumed it wouldn't be any good to have Windows Firewall AND another firewall running?
