How it works. You just press a button to select the fiendly closest to the center of your screen, a box is drawn around his ID, if he not the right selection you click again and next friendly currently on your screen is selected. One sec after no more selections are made the message is sent.

We send a text message on private, we also play a wave file when the message is recieved. The squelch command remains operational so you can filter out miss use of the feature.

Basically sounds good but there can be dozens of people to cycle through. Perhaps this system may be too clumsy to be used under most circumstances.

I think it is important to remember it is an option. I will map it to a key and use it that way. It can of course be ignored if one doesn't like it (for instance I don't use the padlock- even forgot it was in there until this issue cropped up).

If I understand correctly the wave file resides on your machine, therefore you don't push the file to the guy you are calling to, only the command for his machine to play it. This is significant because it disallows the receiver from being abused by the sender, allows language specific calls to be generated for use by the receiver only, and doesn't increase the load on the server.

Pretty slick, really.

Will we be able to have a .wav file for each aircraft, as we do for engines now?

I would love to get a warning in Japanese when flying the A6M5b, in English accented English when fly Spits, in American accented English when flying the P-47D-30 or P-38, Finnish when flying the Bf109G-2, ect, ect.

Please?

Personally i think wav files of banana saying "check 6 Big Boy" in his best Mae West impersonation would have me looking around in utter fear and apprehension far faster than Ronni or Yankee saying the same thing
