Guess what I'm doing tonight...
« on: September 01, 2004, 01:40:29 PM »

I'm getting around to recording some music :)

I should be all setup: Sonar and Protools Digi01, Drumkit from Hell II, Little 8 channel Mackie board with 4 Mackie high-end preamps, Event bi-amplified reference speakers, one AKG C1000 mic, some guitars, some bad attitude, my cruddy voice and some beer!

Cool stuff!

I use GuitarTracksPro2 for simple digital desktop recording but have played with the idea of getting Sonar3.

On a related note: I am currently working up the courage to make a deposit on a custom made Hamer B12M 12-String bass with flame top maple double cutaway mated to a matching classic head (No Vee) via a 32 inch neck with ebony fretboard/no inlays.  Listed out at over 4k  My price is a bit better than that tho.

I'm just gonna have a sandwich and then spank it.

Nice to see someone with ambition.

Have fun.

I used to own a Hamer guitar...was very nice..had lighted led's in the top of the neck for fret markers. A "friend" borrowed it and that was the last I ever saw of it....  They make nice stuff.

Come to think of it, another "friend" made a 1977 acoustic Gibson Dove of mine dissapear too!

I play bass a little but only have a cheap Yamaha in which I installed active EMG's into. The Best Bass I ever played was my friend's Aria Pro...I forget the model..was one piece body/neck and had EMG's best active pickups and EQ (at the time, 1989 ish)  That thing had balls and sounded perfect plugged direct into a board, no EQ.

I like Sonar a lot so far. I wish I had more time to play around with music .
