My most satisfying no kill fight
« on: February 12, 2001, 05:11:00 AM »
I was defending A29 against incoming enemies, rooks or bishes cannot remember. I was away from the field where (I think) Gium and Gie were capping the field with TBM's (dont ask) while I was in light 190A-5.

I was in 10 kft when co alt F4U engaged me. After few horizontal turns I shot him down quite easily. That was not too hard I thought miself.

Then two more dots appear, one bit lower and one co-alt. I turn to them and they turn out to be 109G-10 and F4U. I kill the lower G-10 easily but then found myself low F4U above me trying to get my six. I head back to field which seems to be painfully far away since it is not in vis range. F4U gets to my six and starts to close so I break to him. He starts a climb and I turn back to base. This happens few times and finally he gives up and heads for home!

I was suprised, he had angle and energy advantage all the time but he gave up. There was no other planes near us so I figured I had scared him off! That was more fun than actually killing him.
