I decided to deliberately ignore this entire tempest in the VN teapot for at least a week until the "did not/did so" stuff sort of settles out.

Me too. I just watched "Catch Me if You Can", and if I ever meet him, would not be ashamed to ask for an autograph. Well, if he puts on a Airline Captain uniform that is, that bird hunting outfit with a tie was kinda Liberace meets Laz.

All of these new accusations are true.

Some of these new accusations are true, while some of them are false.

One thing looks certain to me: the general public won't know anything much about those possibilities for at least a week, maybe more.

On my list of things to worry about tomorrow, this issue is......... let me see...........

I remember watching TV on 9-11-01 live............
when everything was live and chaotic.  There was a reporter live on the air, Dan Rather asked him about the situation......

(i'm not quoting exactly here, just personal reflection)

"Do you see bodies, are there people jumping from the buildings?"

I remember watching this live on 9-11 and turning the channel in disgust.


Anyone watch the dumb movie "hero" and the reporter in the office asked the reporter on the scene about the airline crash, and basiclly the asked the same question, and the scene that followed?...I think it was Alan Alda and Dustin Hoffman?????

I have not watched Dan Rather or CBS news since.

It was very unprofessional

Tap, you should have seen him on Letterman right after 9/11. He broke down in tears trying to describe what happened that day. If you have any doubts abouth Rather, watch that interview. It is one of the images of 9/11 I'll always remember. It really hit home then... they hurt us, they hurt us bad.
