What's a perk point and how do I check it; then, why would I care how many I had?

Fury (just an imho, not intended to start any more perk discussions)

Does anyone else keep forgetting to change thier category setting before setting out on a Jabo strike? I kinda wish it wasn't neccessary.... and the system would just recognize a ground structure was hit by you without having tell it that yes, you will be hitting a ground structure, so score accordingly.

I must be overlooking something as to why that is needed.

Perk Points? I'm never gonna have enough to get a new pair of socks, much less the 51H.

Oh Rip...

Clarify for me the way AH is supposed to be played

Read "Game Overview" on the homepage of HTC.

(And I said 'intended' not 'supposed to'...big difference. )

Read them and weep boys!!!

                  16 fighter perk points!!

                  7.6 bomber perk points!!

                  14 Hours of flight time.

When you small time players are ready to equal that, give me a call!!
Ah! Forget about the call, I'll be on your 12.

Lets see I have just over 200 fighter pp's,
something like 40 bomber pp's and about 5 vehicle pp's.

all this in a whopping 67 hours of gameplay.

Can you say I'm suckin????

You think you suck...I spent every day on my Xmas break plus every weekend for the past week for over 4 hours a day and I have:

150.56 Fighter
35.20 Bomber
2.50 Vehicle

And that's with well over 150 hours of play (at least it felt that way)

I must be overlooking something as to why that is needed.

The only thing the fighter/attack buttons change is wether yuur score for that sortie is added to the fighter or attck sections of the score sheet. As there are no damage/* sections in the Fighter score sheet that means that any ground object damage will not could towards fighter score or rank.

However perk points are scored for both ground targets and air to air equally reguardless of which scoring option you choose.

BTW I keep forgetting to press that little button too, I'd lile it to be 'sticky' for a given plane, ie. stay as set until I change it. Mainly because I only fly the Typhoon and the F4U-1D as ground attack planes (although the odd plane seems to get in front of my guns by accident every now and then ;)
