Gamplay is suffering.

You are SUPPOSED to level bomb them with bomber formations.

THAT's why they're so large. So that JABO groups can't cap a field in minutes.

back in AH1 with the old towns 1 BF110 jabo could take the town down

some times 2 if the 1 did not do well

Back in the REALLY old days, three guys could capture bases. Knock the field ack, two guys vulch, and the third lands a goon at the field map room.

But then again, in those days there were also carbombers and insta-mobile ack defenses via buffs.

Actually I think it should be as it is but require more troops but only say #% of buildings destroyed .

In fact I would like several towns per base ...........each town  with its own peripheral Gv spawn points and map rooms.

Then each base has its own map room too.

But you can only spawn from a base if there is a route via a town to a zone master of ypour country..

Gvs could spawn by clicking on the peripheral town from the base tower or to an adajacent field if they owned the town between them.

OH and remove icons from troops and GV's or stick them under them again.

Why? So you can kill shoot yourself on a friendly tank?

I think the town size is fine, but like tilt mentioned a bit more gameplay would be nice.

Have diffrent sizes of towns.

Have diffrent states of airfield capture, maybe 10 troops disable another 10 capture.

Have a captured base be inactive for 20 mins, not able to recapture it AND not able to start land. This way the fight center moves and it gets more intresting.

Have supply status change time of building/hangar respawn. So factories around the country provide the resupplieing, if the factories get knocked out the hanger, town, ack reconstruction is slower. This way factories become intresting strat target and not only the front line fields.

Country with lower numbers have more workers in the factory (since less are flying) so the factories get rebuild faster.

ATM only attractive bombing targets are front line fields that you want to take (including carriers which are some kind of fields) with some strat changes other bomb targets should get intresting too.

Interesting ideas.

SirLoin,
I disagree.  True, the front moves slower most of the time but it just takes more people working together and using the right tools to move it.

Krusty,
You’re right about Towns and bombers except that one guy in a panzer (with friendly cap) or half a dozen guys in 110s can do the job much quicker.  The chief advantage when using bombers is their reliability.

One thing that worries me about the ideas posted:

What would the Jabo roll be in these design changes?  Strictly field and GV suppression?

Tilt,
What happens when Towns become isolated and what do you mean by “…is a route via a town to a zone master of ypour country.. “?

It looks like you’re trying to implement the “traveling concept” which could be cool, especially if we had rivers, bridges and bridging equipment. :D

Not sure I understand the idea of multiple Towns and how they would effect base capture or if it’s just to increase the number of buildings that need to be killed.
I’ve wondered about packing 4 times the number of buildings into Towns so it would take the same number of guys in Panzers and Bombers to kill one but with defenders killing the GVs, I figure it evens out.

Schutt,
That’s an interesting idea about sliding down times based on player numbers and factory percentages.  You’re right about the front line fields; dar, barracks and ammo are the targets for any bomber guy logging in on a random night without wingmen.

Deep penetration flights were more for the challenge and points then any real accomplishment, there might be more of them if they were more useful.
Easy in-game again.

I like and have also wished they would remove the GV Icons. When saying this I mean on the NME GVs, not the friendly ones. I am sure Tilt means the same thing. What good is trying to hide an M3 from a plane if this huge Red Icon is flashing under him. You can't see an NME GV ICON if your in a GV, so why should the planes see em.
