Yes those puffs of smoke that churn out when the engine fires off is nice, I'll agree.
There is a ton of things "other" games/sims have that AH doesn't, there is also a lot of things AH has that other games/sims don't!
I would be here until tomorrow listing all the have's and don't have's and would still probably not cover them all.
The #1 thing you need for a good if not great game/sim that is mmpog is a good genre and a strong community.
This is where HTC has carved their niche. This is IMO one of the reasons it has stayed alive and continues to grow. This is also where their {HTC} is going to need to make some decisions and start looking to the future. {not that they have not already done so}
These new planes and skins are great, don't get me wrong, coming from someone who does modeling and 3D graphic work it takes time and there is a lot of conciderations to go with.
Point being, there is a post called "news" in the Gereral discussions, nice post basicaly letting HTC know that the guys like the new A/C pics. This is great {it should happen more often IMO, but great none the less} HTC needs feedback to continue to produce a product that people will pay for. It's just good business. Now, notice in the post a person states: "and this effects gameplay how"?
Now I have nothing against this person, he should not be frowned upon nor like the typical post after that, "you should like the new pics like we do and don't fold your arms and throw a fit" or something to that effect. Now, I have NOTHING against either of the people making those statements, they are and should be allowed. Niether is better or worse/right or wrong, just stating how one feels or what their take on it is.
That being said, the whole reason for this post is to answer your question "What do others have that AH doesn't" he11, we could go on forever bout that stuff. We all like the eye candy of IL2 and the flight model of AH and the ground war of WWII Online. All the little things like puffs of smoke to the reload animations for weapons, these are all great things from great games.
My whole quest is and has been for AH to be the sim of all sims.................period! I have never wanted HTC to fail, go broke, ban people, throw in the towel, stop working for the perfect game {I know there isn't one, but you get what I mean}
This is why you will see people, myself included and a lot of others not get all fired up, jump up and down and start going crazy over a few pics of a new plane. I think the pic's are great, it shows progress and hard work and I don't believe anyone in this community thinks for one second that HTC is not working hard for it's customers.
But when a BB is filled with more complanits, unhappy customers, whines {we're all gulity} finger pointing and down right descension, we need to be looking at the bigger picture and not at a new plane, while it is very nice, it doesn't fix anything.
I made a few post a month or so ago and I stated {not in a bad way} that the community is on a downward spiral and the true nature of the community is going away, I was told to basicly shut up and or go away. You don't say that to someone who has supported a product, community and his fellow gamers. I bet most didn't even realize that I personally brought over 20 paying/playing customers to this community. No, I'm not looking for any thanks or WTG's, we all want to share something fun & exciting with someone else that has the same interests & ideas.
So, what do others have that AH2 doesn't.........ya know I don't care what the "others" have because AH is, should and could be in a class by itself that people would line up out the door to be a part of.
