That is one hundred percent correct. Faith needs to transcend fear. Though I often fail miserably ultimately my desire is to please God. The rules are simple. Love God all all your heart and mind. Treat your fellow man as yourself. These are both very difficult to put into practice. Only one living person managed to accomplish both perfectly and he was way overmodelled.
People have seen how you act on this board and in the CT. You don’t just "fail miserably" it appears you often head in the opposite direction especially in regards to how you treat your "fellow man".
As I said above it’s the fundamentalists that make the worst ambassadors for their religion and you are no exception.
One would think that if the stakes are as high as some claim (external darkness absent from the light of their God) then they would make much more of effort not only for their own salvation but to beacon a to the "lost".
To be fair you are the typical "Christian" who would rationalize away his failings with the "we all fall short, please forgive me". This is not to say that all Christian are the same. History is full of folks who served their religion selfishly, they served not out of fear but because they truly believed.
To the Christian it’s not enough just to love God but to accept Christ as their personal savoir. This is what makes one a "Christian". There are plenty who "love God their Creator" but reject the teachings of "Christ" either outright or through their daily actions.
I am not singling you out and you are quite typical of the self proclaimed “Christians” on this board and that I encounter in everyday life. Many of them on this board call for the extermination of Islamic women and children. I remember one so-called “Christian” claiming his love of the Lord in one thread then insulting another posters Mother in the next. So don’t take my post personally I am just illustrating a point.
Asatru my friend…
