Anyway, 4°Stormo Caccia Terrestre (CT) means: 4th Fighter Group (land based).
Major F.Baracca was the italian WWI ace of aces with 34 confirmed kills. He flew Nieuport and Spad fighters (take a look at the last OSPREY's "Neuport Aces of WWI").
He died during a strafe attack on enemy trenches. The personal emblem of Major Francesco Baracca, the Prancing Horse, that was gifted by the mother of Francesco, Countess Paolina Biancoli to the former Enzo Ferrari, is now famous throughout the world as the coat of arms adopted by his F1 racing team of Maranello. What can I say, he looks like a tuff guy.
