Oil splash every time?
« on: January 03, 2005, 01:36:48 PM »
I am sure others have posted before about this, but I don't think we should have oil on our wind screen every time we take an oil hit.

My two cents. :)

I consider it an over compensation for not having smoke in the cockpit... ever.

Whilst I appreciate it could suddenly happen I would prefer the effect to thicken with time...........particularly on the cockpit side windows and canopy roof.

Not every time Daddog, some times its a cockpit hit & its blood.

Course if you'd climb out of that dinosaur you fly it would help.

Try the yak for a tour.  :)

I'm all for the windshield wiper feature for the 109's, after all it was included in the plane to wipe off the oil from the windscreen so it would be a realistic feature.

What if your oil tank is hit from the side? Then it wouldn't leak onto the canopy would it?
Unless the tank is under pressure and explodes on impact?

Couldn't engineers think of placing the oil tank somewhere else? :)
